Tom Appel moved back to Nashville in the autumn of 2009 after spending five lovely years near London, England working with youth in an Anglican Church. Now he works as a neighborhood organizer for south Nashville with the Neighborhoods Resource Center and has quickly learned to love the Flatrock neighborhoods. A picky eater in his formative years, it has taken the persistence of a good woman with an excellent palate (his wife, Joanna), to introduce Tom to the joys of healthy and adventurous food. He thinks perfectly roasted parsnips and carrots are hard vegetables to beat and pears are without a doubt the supreme fruit.
